My name is Heather Martin and I have over 6 years experience as an authorised marriage celebrant based in Marrickville and working in the Inner West as well as across Sydney.

A Beautiful and Well-Organised Wedding Celebration
The first step to planning the perfect wedding ceremony is to complete your Notice of Intended Marriage. (This document needs to be lodged at least 31 days before your wedding ceremony). At our first meeting, you will need to bring your birth certificate (or your passport if you are not an Australian citizen). Any details of previous marriages need to be provided at this stage also.
As a formality, a declaration is prepared which you both need to sign before the marriage ceremony to declare that you know of no legal impediment to this planned civil marriage. If you are bringing a partner into Australia, a letter for the Department of Immigration is also required. If you wish to change your surname following the marriage a document is also required. As your wedding celebrant and a registered Justice of the Peace, I can attend to all legal documentation necessary for your civil wedding.
While legal requirements for your civil marriage ceremony are completed, you can arrange meetings with marriage celebrants regarding specific details and wishes for your big day to be made. A detailed ceremony schedule can be designed and emailed to you if you need guidance. Suggested changes are most welcome up until a week prior to the civil wedding ceremony.
